Memorable museum exhibits of 2010 (more...)


Spencer Finch's exhibit at the Corcoran included several of his watercolor paintings based on the weather. I especially like the paintings where he creates patterns of color and line to interpret the sky, water, and clouds. This watercolor is called Jetstream Over North America (Forecast for 10 Days Ahead).

I enjoyed that exhibit also, and found this pastel resonanted on more than one level: given the complexity of world air currents, the picture no doubet reflects some
reality! It is also amusing to reflect on the impossiblity of any accurate forecasting!
